Fun Club with good energy
Cobalt has become our favorite club in our first few months in D.C. It has a total of 3 levels including the restaurant. The mid level is a good chill and social place, with the DJ spinning, but not too loud so you can actually converse with friends. Upstairs is the main dance floor, and it gets going really well later in the evening (after 11). Music varies based on the DJ, but we always have fun. The bar staff is very friendly, prices including the cover are very reasonable. This is definitely a 21+ club to check out!
Happy Hour Fun
The newly re-decorated 30 Degrees Lounge, located on second floor of Cobalt is the place to be for Happy Hour. 2-4-1 Specials on everything alcohol is the best...not just a special on limited stock or overstocked like other bars. The bartenders are friendly and fun, and always happy to see you when you walk in the door. It's like southern hospitality in the Nation's Capital. Worth the visit every time.
good enough
Went there on sunday, probably not the best night as it was karaokey, but fun anyway. Bar staff was super friendly and cute. The place has a modern feel , the crowd was really early 20s but then again it was sunday.
Trendy DC lounge with small dancefloor.
After Town, this is probably DC's second most favorite gay club. This place is located in beautiful old rowhouse/mansion near Dupont Circle. First floor (Level One) is a restaurant by day. Popular on weekends among the gays for brunch. The second floor is 30 Degrees. It's a lounge type place. People do end up dancing but it can get crowded very quickly so it may be hard to move. The third floor is called Cobalt and what locals mostly call the entire complex also. It's pretty dark and small but packs a lively, rowdy crowd. The bartenders are shirtless and HOT. Overall a fun place but attracts more of a attitude prone crowd than Town or Jr's which is down the street.
