Annie's Paramount Steak House

(294 Ratings)
Iconic gay restaurant
The cavernous interior of Annie's, the seriously queer steakhouse, has been updated but the comfort food menu of huge fries and steaks and oversized salads remain unchanged. Upstairs is now a swanky lounge. Make sure to take in a D.C. tradition here: get a table in the front room with the expansive view of the gay crowd that cruises up and down 17th Street.

Very Good!!!

I must say after reading alot of reviews from other sites I was a little weary of going to Annies, However a friend told me not to listen to them, and just go! I am so Glad I did!!! The service was outstanding, and nice like they really cared.... you dont find that often. Friendly staff, great hostess!!! The food was really good and quick!! The drinks were good, Randy, the bartender, knows how to pour a drink!! Our waitress, Lauren was fun and attentive. If you are in DC... Go to Dupont Circle and Eat at Annie's Paramount Steakhouse!! You will not be dissapointed!! It was so good we went there twice on our little jaunt to DC!

Outstanding!!!

Wow, what an experience! My partner and I vivsited DC from Ft. Lauderdale and had actually heard terrible things. A friend told us to go regardless of what we heard. We are so glad we did. We ate at Annie's twice. Our server, Lauren, was outstanding. The place was packed every night with a fun crowd. The food was incredible! Make sure you try the boneless fried chicken and the NY strip!!! Overall, Annie's is a great spot and a must visit anytime you are in the DC area!

My favorite DC spot for 14 years, and counting

This is the best place to go to meet people in Dupont Circle, of all ages and types. Wonderfully free of attitude, and a waitstaff that falls all over to be friendly and helpful, even to grumpy customers. Consistently good food at a good price. The recent makeover added some new and more healthy items to the menu, but the comfort food is still there too

Old Reliable

I travel a lot to DC for work, and I always look forward to a dinner at Annie's. While not a Ruth's Chris steakhouse, it's good food for the price, very friendly staff, and we always enjoy the crowd. They've recently vastly simplified the menu, so much of the "diner" food is gone, leaving a good basic steakhouse setup. After having sampled other restaurants on 17th street, it's clear this is one of the better ones, if not the best.
