Freddie's Beach Bar

(75 Ratings)
Beachy vibes

Though not actually on a beach, run by the charismatic Freddie, this colorful "straight-friendly" bar/restaurant is a fun stop just across the Potomac River in the Crystal City neighborhood of Arlington, VA. Freddie's is THE only gay bar in Northern Virginia. Drag shows and karaoke are some of the main attractions.

Over the TOP fun!!!!

If you cannot have a good time at Freddie's, YOU ARE ALREADY DEAD!!!! From the moment you walk in, you feel like you are amongst family. All the hate, prejudice, homophobia and all other negativity waltz right out the door. The place is Festively decorated and the bar and wait staff attend to your every need with Big smiles and great memories. I have always liked this bar. It was the first Gay bar I frequented in DC when I first moved here in 05. I recently moved back, and the place has hardly changed at all. The same people still go and there are new additions to the fold as well. You NEVER know what may happen during Karaoke and the Follies are always a treat. I have never eaten anything here that I did not love. SO i will just say the food is AMAZING as well....... If your'e lucky, Freddie will come sit and have a drink with you with his warm smile and charm, he will make you feel right at home. I DARE YOU to go there and NOT have a good time

Great spot

Freddie's is a neighborhood restaurant/bar where everybody in the neighborhood is welcome. Gay, lesbian, straight, trans, black, white, latino, Asian, old or young. It has no attitude, friendly staff and decent food. Of course, Freddie is the oil that makes the cogs work and will hopefully be there when you drop by. Check out the schedule for karaoke, a drag show or drag bingo, and try the Sunday champagne brunch. Prices are reasonable. Give Freddie's a try if you're in the area.

Fabulous Gay Karaoke Bar

Freddie's has a fun environment, good food, fun people, events every night and a fabulous stage. There is so much going on in the amazing decorating of this place, with barbie collections, eccentric lighting, and painted furniture on the wall, that you can notice something new every time you go! This is the place to be, and it's right next to Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA)!

Oasis from Uptight

I have been to Freedie's one time for the Sunday drag show. The drinks were effective and the crowd was friendly. While Karaoke can sometimes be off putting, It was about as intrusive as people playing pool in the background. This is a chill spot I look forward to visiting again.

Neighborhood awesomeness!

Hands down one of the greatest Sunday brunch deals. Freddies is a great place I've been going to for 10 years. I never could stand all the "pretentious plastic" bars in DC where people stand and rate you as you enter the door...Freddies is the neighborhood fun place to hang out with friendly people and grab a great bite to eat for lunch or dinner...their calamari is absolutely the best!
