Ziegfield's/Secrets (Closed Permanently)

(310 Ratings)
DC's gay entertainment complex reborn
A whole cast of female illusionists at Ziegfield's and the chorus of all nude male dancers at Secrets are the draw at this two-level entertainment venue, which manages the feat of both great drag and great stripping. The cover charge includes a discount on your first drink. A must-stop! But remember, 21+ and every girl must have a male escort to go to Secrets.

Untouchable naked straight men and their girlfriends make this an uninviting place, nothing like it was in its original location. The dancers all seem straight and disinterested in being there except for the money. Women galore (which I resent in a place of this sort) make for a further slap in the face to gay patrons. I guess I am an old-school fag here who cannot stand the intrusion. I will find better ways to spend my money.

Ziegfield's/Secrets has Reopened Bigger and Better

BUT...well unfortunately S/Z's has been forced to _close permanently_ for the second time in its existance (once for the baseball stadium and now for developers.) IDK if they would be lucky enough to open at a third location. Here's hoping. ******* Secrets/Ziegfield's has reopened at a new location at the corner of Half and T Sts. SW. (Hallelujah!) This three-story complex has a mezzanine bar on the entry level, which has a grand view of the lower floor and Ziegfield's drag stage. To the right of the mezzanine bar, stairs lead up to the second floor where the naked dancer guys are. :p There is another huge bar on the lower floor and two bars (often with naked guys on them!) in Secrets upstairs. Each floor also has a medium-size dance floor. This venue has a lot more room than the old location. Did I mention the naked guys? My friend and I went there on a recent Friday. The cover charge was $10 and I paid $5.50 for a rum and Coke. Secrets must have the hottest, friendliest, most diverse dancer guys in DC! I always have a good time there, so I'll be back! :)

Yes to this spot

Loved this quaint spot, though it was literally next to no other bars, clubs, or eateries. Going up to the second level Secrets was a treat. Yes nude guys there are mostly straight, they were nice, albeit for my money. There were a few gay ones too. The bartenders are sweethearts and the drinks were stiff. I will definitely visit again.

More straight than gay on Saturdays

I've been coming to Ziegfield's since the 1990s. So I've been really saddened by the fact that it's been taken over by hen parties on Saturday nights. The last time I went (4-22-17) was particularly bad: the entire floor area in front of the stage was women only, many of whom were loud, drunk, and rude. More than once the owner had to yell at some of them, to little avail. I understand that women like the "safe" space of gay bars, but this is too much.
