Information Center for Smithsonian Museums

The Smithsonian Institution Building (known as The Castle) is the familiar red sandstone building that is now the administrative headquarters for the Smithsonian Institution. Located right on The Mall, this is a handy information center for the various Smithsonian museums, research centers and the zoo. There is an introductory video, as well as displays with information about Smithsonian events. In addition, there are morning tours of The Castle itself. If you're interested in the Smithsonian Museums, this is a good place to start.
