MIXTAPE, one of DC's longest running dance parties, is finally coming to U Street Music Hall. Both new and old and fans should expect to hear a mix of sounds, including nu-disco, house, indie-pop, and electro, played all night by resident DJ Matt Bailer and two amazing guest DJs: Tommy Cornelis of TNX and Keenan Orr. All three DJs will be playing back to back (to back) and keep you dancing all night.
MIXTAPE is about enjoying the music without any pretense. It is an LGBTQ party and everyone is welcome. Please respect your neighbors and the space.

MATT BAILER is a DC-based DJ who favors house, nu-disco, indie dance, and the 90s. He is one of the two DJs who co-founded MIXTAPE, and he also started the monthly 90's party PEACH PIT which has been a DC nightlife staple for 8 years. He is currently a resident DJ at Nellie's Sports Bar and La Boum Brunch, and has had frequent recurring appearances at most of DC's gay hotspots including Town, Trade, and Cobalt. In addition to the honor of being asked to perform opening sets for artists including Robyn, Kiesza, Marina & The Diamonds, and Diplo, Matt has recently been spreading his sound to dancefloors in Denver (Larimer Lounge), San Francisco (QBar, Lookout, Top The Hole @ Underground SF), and NYC (Nowhere Bar, C'mon Everybody, and HOT RABBIT'S BAD HABIT party @ Brooklyn's Lot45).
TOMMY CORNELIS is a DJ based in Washington DC whose sets trace back to the origins of the queer dance floor, jumping around from disco, house, and acid to techno. He is passionate about building up DC's queer underground as a member of The NeedlExchange (TNX), a DJ collective and party that also includes Bil Todd, Baronhawk, and DJ Lisa Frank.
He has shared the bill with DJs such as The Black Madonna, Omar-S, Keith Worthy, DJ Harvey, Rich Medina, Kon, The Juan MacLean, Jeffrey Sfire and Aaron Clark, to name a few. With TNX, he has championed bringing talented queer DJs into the District including Honey Dijon, Horse Meat Disco, Discodromo, Honey Soundsystem, DJ Minx, Kim Ann Foxman, Gay Marvine, and Honcho. He has had the pleasure of playing in clubs and parties across North America, including the Red Bull Music Academy Festival in New York, Folsom in San Francisco, Hot Mass in Pittsburgh, The Black Eagle in Toronto, and Deep South in Atlanta.
KEENAN ORR is a DC-based DJ whose sound bounces from Chicago House, Baltimore Club, Electro, Disco and classics of the 80's and 90's, Keenan Orr has landed residencies at a number of clubs around the city, including Cobalt, Marvin, and Sleaze Party at Wonderland. Known for clean mixing and a good ear for music, Orr makes a lasting impression on all that have the chance to experience his sets.
