Join Casey Trees and Latino Outdoors as we venture into the woodlands of Rock Creek Park to learn about this forested oasis that provides vital habitat to a diverse number of species. According to the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) there are 390 species of vertebrate animals and thousands of species of invertebrates in the city’s green spaces. This species diversity is sustained by the surprisingly diverse array of urban ecosystems including forests, waters, meadows, and wetlands.
