CODE at the Crucible - Saturday, Feb. 1!
Hi guys,
Starting Saturday, Feb. 1, the monthly CODE parties will be bigger, better, and "livelier" than ever at our new location - the Crucible! Yes, after several years of successful events at the Green Lantern, CODE's signature "1st-Saturday-of-the-Month" party is moving to a larger and less-restrictive space. Everything you've come to love about CODE will continue - great DJ's and music, hot men fitted out in the hottest gear, full-service cash bar with friendly bartenders - PLUS, whatever you used to do "behind the curtain" you can now do anywhere in the club!
SCHEDULE: 1st Saturday of each month, starting Feb. 1, 2014, from 10:00 pm to 3:00 am.
DRESS CODE: What makes CODE unique and special is the dress code: men in sports gear, jocks, skinheads, uniforms, leather, rubber - a fetish-gear dress code that will be strictly enforced, but will now be EXPANDED to include full nudity. (Because the Crucible is a private club, full nudity is allowed throughout the venue.) So come get your gear on or get naked - clothes-check will be available! Note: plain underwear will NOT be acceptable - c'mon guys, at least make it "ass-less"... ;) A good rule-of-thumb might be that if you could buy it at the MAL Marketplace, it's probably ok! If you can buy it at Kmart, probably not... :-/
FACILITIES: Another GREAT advantage to the new location will be the facilities. The Crucible has facilities for BDSM and fetish action, a back room with mattresses, a play area with wrestling mats, a sling, and massage tables. Condoms, latex gloves and paper towels will be available, but BYO lube, poppers, and any other personal supplies you might desire... There are clean restrooms, but no showers, so please attend to personal hygiene beforehand.
Location and parking are easy... The Crucible is located at 16 M St. NE . There's plenty of street parking, just off of N. Capital St., just south of New York Avenue or use the pay-to-park lot immediately next to the building. This is also METRO accessible - just one block from the NoMa-Gallaudet (previously known as New York Avenue) Metro Station. (Look for the 1-story red-brick building with two large garage doors, on M St., just east of North Capital Street. The address "16" is discreetly printed on the entry door, and a small black awning says "The Crucible" over the door.)
CODE Tickets and Crucible Membership: Admission to CODE will be only $15 for Crucible members, or $20 for guests of members, payable by cash or credit at the door. The Crucible is a membership-based private club.
IMPORTANT: Unless you arrive as the "guest" of a member, you DO have to get an annual Crucible membership BEFORE showing up at the door. (This is a "private club" legal requirement that will be strictly enforced.) Memberships will NOT be available at the door. You must go to https://www.cruciblelifestyle.com/ticketcenter/membership.aspx to purchase your annual membership ($25 annual fee). (If you have a Crucible membership already, you're all set with regard to this requirement. If you need to get a membership, choose the "Crucible Single" membership option on the website. Note that the process for membership RENEWAL is the same as initially joining - when you login, there are two options, one for new and one for renewal.) Credit card transactions on the Crucible website are handled discreetly - charges come up as "Southwest Social Scene" or "ROBE Inc" on your credit card statement.
Crucible members can bring up to 3 GUESTS who do NOT have to first obtain a Crucible membership in order to attend the event, at a cost of just $20/guest, payable at the door. Guests must arrive with the member.
If you've been to the CODE MAL Parties, or to the CODE XXX Parties that have previously been at the Crucible, you know what a great space this is! We're now excited to continue the monthly 1st-Saturday CODE tradition in this new venue, and hope to see MANY of you there... :)
Your event hosts,
Jacob, David, and Morgan
P.S., Please plan to attend and bring your friends! The more successful each month's event is, the better we can ensure that CODE will continue to be a REGULAR MONTHLY EVENT for all to enjoy!

FAQs
What's the difference between the CODE parties at the Crucible and the CODE XXX parties that were previously held at the Crucible?
There are several differences. First, the schedule: CODE will be the 1st Saturdays; CODE XXX was on the 3rd Fridays. Second, CODE has a fetish dress code, whereas CODE XXX did not have a dress code, although nudity or fetish-wear were encouraged. Third, CODE has a greater emphasis on the music, with special guest DJ's hired each month. Fourth, admission is only $15! :)
Will Code XXX continue?
Yes, but not as a monthly event. We expect that CODE XXX will return as a special event periodically, perhaps quarterly.
Why the change in venue from the Green Lantern to the Crucible?
After 42 straight monthly events at the GL, following 9 previously at EFN, both of which were bars, moving CODE to the Crucible private club will allow much greater freedom of expression and freedom from a variety of pesky "rules" that are legally imposed on bars - freedom for people to express themselves, their fantasies and their kinks through their gear and their activities. As a private club, nudity is legally permitted throughout the Crucible. The Crucible is a much larger space and has much better and extensive facilities for fetish activities.
Do I have to become a member of the Crucible?
Yes, unless you come as a "guest" of a member. (Members can bring up to 3 guests to each event.) But memberships are reasonably priced at $25 annually, and also allow you to attend other events at the Crucible as well. ("College Night" anyone?) Memberships must be purchased online, but they may be purchased right up to the time of the event, so you can use your smart phone to get online and purchase your membership right before you get to the door, if you wish. Purchases are handled with discretion.
Is the Crucible convenient?
The Crucible is conveniently located near the intersection of New York Avenue and North Capital Street, in the rapidly developing NoMa area that includes the new Harris-Teeter Supermarket, as well have many new restaurants, and residential and commercial buildings. It's Metro-accessible, is surrounded by extensive street-parking, and has a pay-to-park lot immediately next to the building.
What exactly is the Crucible?
The Crucible is a fully licensed private social club that hosts a wide variety of kink and fetish events throughout the year. And although the CODE events are the only "all-male" events currently hosted at the Crucible, the club is always welcoming to members of the gay community. The physical facilities maintained by the Crucible include comfortable lounge areas, clean restrooms, a bar, a large well-equipped BDSM/fetish play space, a sling, wrestling mats, and a club-quality audiovisual system for music and large-screen video entertainment.
Why is there a bio-hazard symbol in the CODE logo?
First off, the presence of this symbol in the CODE logo has nothing to do with barebacking! Condoms have always been and will continue to be available for use at all CODE events as people choose. This symbol has simply been Jacob's favorite "edgy" symbol since he worked in a hospital surgical ward while serving in the Air Force in the 1990's. In 2009, when Jacob started CODE as a fetish event for EFN Lounge and needed a suitable logo, he asked his graphic designer to incorporate his favorite symbol along with his favorite color, orange, into the design. And the CODE logo was born...
