The GAG Ball 2018: Gays Against Guns

Join us for the 2nd Annual GAG Ball - celebrating the intersection of queer life and the anti-gun violence movement. Our tea dance featuring local queer DJs and performance artists raises funds to support the prime mission of Gays Against Guns DC this year: unseat the DC Metro area's own Barbara Comstock (R-VA), who ranks #10 in the House of Representatives for career campaign donations from the NRA. 100% of the proceeds will support GAG-DC with: * The production and distribution of digital advertisements targeted at her Northern Virginia constituency that name, shame, and blame Barbara Comstock for her anti-gun control stances and the violence they create * Materials for direct action on Capitol Hill calling attention to the gun lobby apparatus and NRA’s stranglehold on our democracy (such as t-shirts, spray paint, posterboard, craft materials) Who is Gays Against Guns (GAG)? * Descending from the ACT UP movement of the 1980s, GAG is a national organization that names, shames, and blames the gun lobby, violence profiteers, and their GOP benefactors on Capitol Hill. The GAG-DC chapter leverages its proximity to the national political scene by taking political theater, direct action tactics to the grounds of the Capitol. Expect bumping music, incredible local performers, and opportunities to lend your name to the fight against the gun violence epidemic that plagues our country.
