Universal Gear (Closed Permanently)

Love it.

Every time I visit DC, I have to stop by and buy something. Little on the pricy side but always find something to love.

Visited the store and nearby are restaurants bars

Visited the store, fashionable shop originated toward young mens market twenty some year olds, likely for those who can afford the tags. Some items were not priced such as shoes ( a reason to chat with the sales people) small section with mark-downs.

Not for the faint of wallet

This store has some fantastic clothes, underwear, bags and shoes, but get ready to pay a high mark-up for them. All the current gay-friendly brands (G-star, Penguin, Ben Sherman, D&G), and even some than I've never heard of. A great underwear selection, although not as big as their New York store's. For the budget conscious, they had a sample sale going on my last visit, but every sample had a hole put in by the manufacturer to discourage resale... if you know a good tailor, it might be worth it! Tip: Check out the clearance section in the back... things are still overpriced there, but if you dig deep you might find a good deal.

Great store!

A great selection of clothes and stuff. The sales people were really nice and friendly. I love that they carry Ben Sherman, do you know how hard it is to find Ben Sherman in Texas?? I could have used a cocktail though, our store here in Houston encourages drinking while shopping, what else could one want?!?!

Mostly for the label whore
