Sinema led the Arizona Together campaign that defeated Proposition 107, which would have banned the recognition of same-sex marriages and civil unions in Arizona. She will lead a discussion on lessons from the historic campaign. Rep. Sinema, a native Arizonan, is a progressive legislator working in a conservative state legislature. She's worked with Governor Janet Napolitano (D-AZ) (now Secretary of Homeland Security) and Governor Jan Brewer (R-AZ). In her first book "Unite and Conquer," Sinema shares lessons from these campaigns and national ones to show citizens, activists, and politicians how assemble broad-based coalitions advance progressive causes.
