Freddie's Beach Bar

(75 Ratings)
Beachy vibes

Though not actually on a beach, run by the charismatic Freddie, this colorful "straight-friendly" bar/restaurant is a fun stop just across the Potomac River in the Crystal City neighborhood of Arlington, VA. Freddie's is THE only gay bar in Northern Virginia. Drag shows and karaoke are some of the main attractions.

Northern Virginia's best (and only) gay bar

The atmosphere here is always welcoming, the food is among the best in Arlington, and the beer is always cold. While there is limited street parking out front, there is plenty of parking in the lots in back of Freddie's. Wonderful front covered patio, and of course gender-neutral restrooms.

Ground Zero for Great Times!

Freddie's Beach Bar is pretty much ground zero for great times if you are a member of the Trans and LGBTQ communities. Some bars cater to their specific neighborhood, Freddie's caters to neighborhoods of the heart - it's a place where everyone is not only welcome, it's a place to come home to, to know that, almost whenever you go there, you will run into someone you know, where you can get a great meal (at a good price) and have a good time, to boot. The Karaoke and drag shows are especially fun!

diva gay bar

Although the bar is very diva-ish the patrons can vary quite a bit. The guests can be much friendlier/grounded than some of the people you'll find in DC. The atmosphere is worth a visit by itself.

Hungry or thristy for a Tropical colored drink?

Maybe hearing a new voice belting while you do so, from one of the patrons on karaoke night will suit you, try Freddies.
