Mr. Henry's Restaurant

(36 Ratings)
Capitol Hill legend
Mr. Henry's is a true gay Capitol Hill hangout, with a great sidewalk area. The food is nothing to write home about, but a great time will be had by all.

Great neighborhood bar

While the clientele is mixed, this place definitely has a gay feel to it. The atmosphere is very casual and friendly. I feel equally comfortable taking friends here for an unpretentious brunch or dropping in by myself during the week for a drink or dinner (half-price pasta night!).

Great Neighborhood Place

Small, friendly and comfortable you will feel at home here. Bartender Tim was a great host and the drinks and food were perfect. This place is gay friendly, but it's a mixed crowd. If you are looking for someplace to relax and feel welcome, this is it. Close to Eastern Market Metro it's perfect if you are on the Hill.

We are holding the first of our planning brunches, one in each quadrant and then one across the river in Anacostia

Community hub on Capitol Hill

It is rare that you see such a mix of people in one restaurant in DC. A gay institution (and gay owned), there are always some gay boys in here at any time. In addition, an eclectic mix of neighborhood locals, families, and people that have been dining here for 30 years. A wonderful place to grab a burger, have a drink, or sit out on the patio and read when its sunny outside.

Old Time Capitol Hill

Mr. Henry's will never be listed in Food and Wine Magazine for it's menue. however, the food is usually reliably good, with your typical selection of soups, salads, burgers and sandwhiches. But the atmosphere of being in a restuarnt that looks like it hasn't changed since the 1920's (Except for the downloadable jukebox) as well as a nice outdoor patio make this a fun place to grab a burger or a beer with your friends.
