On the spot Convenient

Really liked it. Sort of quirky chic. In the middle of everything. Cool staff and rooms

Nice balance of luxury and comfort

I stayed here on business, and enjoyed my stay so much, I added an additional night to enjoy myself. While enjoying the wine tasting in the lobby, I was able to enjoy complimentary local brewery samples as well as Chesapeake Bay Oysters. I wound up staying in the hotel, and enjoyed dinner in my room of great brews, fresh oysters and fire-baked pizza. I joined the Kimpton group and plan to return soon.

Relaxing and convenient

Very nice location in the Dupont Circle area and near the Metro station. Rooms are furnished in very tasteful colors and are very comfortable. Service was great and the Urbana restaurant was good for lunch and fair for breakfast. Like all Kimpton's, the afternoon wine reception was good. Only wish that they would vary the snacks since they have been serving the same items for the past three years.

Just OK

Over-rated and over-priced.

Rest With Style--Ask for Bartender Joe at Urbana

If you want a unique place to stay while in D.C., then Palomar will put you to rest--it did me. I found this boutique hotel after walking around P Street NW, which has many restaurants. I had lunch in the hotel restaurant, Urbana, which was blah; however, I went back a few days later for "Happy Hour" in the Urbana bar--bartender Joe was THE Best mixologist I found in the entire city. Not only did he make us great drinks, but he also gave a lesson/sampling of various liquors. I did go on a night Joe wasn't there and the drink AND service wasn't quite the same. Long story short--just ask for Joe. Comfy, stylish rooms.
