Shawn O’Sullivan (aka 400PPM, Vapauteen) is a DJ and producer behind some of the most essential techno releases of the past few years. O’Sullivan’s music is both adventurous and intensely physical, rooted in the history of dark, ambitious club music from minimal synth to EBM, hardcore and industrial techno. A DJ since 1997, O’Sullivan got his start playing gabber, hard acid and breakcore at local parties in small town Iowa. In the 2000s, both as a DJ and a member of the band Led Er Est, he was an instrumental part of the New York’s minimal synth scene.
In the early 2010s, O’Sullivan began performing live hardware techno sets. His techno productions grew directly out of these performances. Largely recorded live in the studio, these tracks weld the open ended improvisation of his live sets to the structures of dance floor ready techno, and bring the aggressive experimentation often associated with the best 1990s techno into the 21st century. His subsequent solo releases on labels like Avian, L.I.E.S. and The Corner, and as part of Further Reductions with Katie Rose O’Sullivan and Civil Duty with Beau Wanzer, have cemented his place as a central figure in the ongoing redefinition of techno’s aesthetic possibilities.

Techno has been a constant in Arthur Kimskii’s life for the better part of two decades. During an 11-year stint as a New Yorker, he launched the record label L.A.G., paired up with Cory James (of past Bunker radio guests Dusk Notes) to form the DJ/production duo Point Break and brought over the likes of Shifted, ASC and Virginia for key stateside gigs. Next stop was Berlin, where Kimskii spent his days working at the infamous Record Loft and his nights playing at some of the city’s best underground techno clubs, like ://about blank, Griessmühle and Ohm. The Berlin period was a critical one: He released his first solo productions, spun his first four-hour-plus extended sets and – as one does in a place known for its abundance of great record shops – accumulated a whole lot of vinyl.
Cory James (Dusk Notes/ L.A.G.)
Native New Yorker Cory James is a hidden treasure in the city’s vibrant techno and house community. James’ signature New York techno sound has found him sharing the decks with such luminaries as VRIL, Joey Anderson, Anthony Parasole, Shifted, DJ QU and more. His label Dusk Notes, that he runs with fellow NY artist Soramimi, is set to release it’s fifth vinyl release this year. Cory James is well respected in the techno arena, with a release on esteemed labels such as BEAR, founded by Concrete Paris residents Behzad and Amarou, a track with Adam Pek on Trevino’s V/A for BIRDIE, and on NY/Berlin based label L.A.G., where James co-produced two EPs as part of the duo Point Break with Arthur Kimskii.
Soramimi (Live) (Dusk Notes)
Soramimi is a composer and producer based in NYC. “ Soramimi ” is defined as a mishearing or feigned deafness. She regards her music as narrative imagery, with an abstract sound illustrated by cerebral textures and dreamlike compositions. Soramimi brings a distinct fluency and gravity to the table of ambient and experimental techno. Her live set performances showcase her original compositions using outboard hardware synths and effects. She has shared the bill with other forward thinking artists such
as Rrose, Lawrence English, Tin Man, and Drumcell. She is also the co-owner of Dusk Notes record label.
