Wednesday Night Open Mic! A Busboys and Poetry Event For two hours audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Your feature: Charles Xavier, less formally known as Charlie is a 24 year old spoken word poet from East Atlanta, GA. Self described as "handcrafted", Charles Xavier is a transgender man who stands for the sad kids, weirdos, & forgotten, the soft boys, Black women, & trans magical beings of this world. An activist for mental health & wellness, Charles Xavier seeks to bring more awareness to the importance of self care & mental health support, particularly within the Black, queer community. Through his poetry & activism, Charles Xavier hopes to motivate others to care more deeply & intentionally for themselves, & each other.
