This LGBTQ and Allies community-wide social provides everyone a chance to socialize and share community spirit in a splendid setting. This free social is officially hosted by Go Gay DC - Metro DC's LGBTQ Community Club (http://www.gogaydc.org/).
All your friends are welcome. There will be a free door prize raffle. 100 fabulous people from all over the world are expected in this ultrahip lounge setting. Name tags will be provided. It's FREE to attend; cash bar. Friday business casual attire is fine.
Adjacent to Scott Circle Park, this upscale venue is conveniently located only blocks away from the Dupont Circle or McPherson Square Metros and street parking is usually available nearby. A map and directions are at http://www.rougehotel.com/washington-dc-hotels-near-metro-map/
Street parking should be readily available at that time in the nearby business district just south of Scott Circle.
Make it an evening:
Enjoy a lively restaurant and bar scene that’s warm and inviting — a hub in which you might find a mix of DC’s movers and shakers alongside politicos, artists, and tourists, too. Perhaps pop in for a snack before a 14th Street dinner or a nightcap after an evening on the town. Bar Rouge serves food during the dinner hour; snack on delectable bites like sweet potato tots, truffle fries, and turkey chili. Other dishes include chicken wings, BBQ pork sliders, pasta Bolognese, grilled chicken wraps, and bacon burgers. Be sure to save room for sweet treats like crème brulee a l’orange and a trio of cupcake bites (naturally, red velvets make the cut.) Arrive right before 7 p.m. and enjoy happy hour deals on snacks plus tasty drinks that are white, rouge, and bursting with bubbles.
Feel free to nvite all your Facebook friends.
See you at the social (Note: If you arrive early - before 7 p.m.- relax at the bar and enjoy the happy hour specials.) http://www.rougehotel.com/pdfs/2014-happy-hour-menu.pdf
This venue allows for networking and conversation; there will be no loud blaring music like most bars.
Optionally, as ongoing community service, if you can, please bring along travel-sized unused soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc. for A-SPAN (www.a-span.org), which provides life-sustaining services for street people. Or clean out your cupboard of unused nonperishable food items for AFAC. (http://www.afac.org/) . This event will serve as a convenient collection point.
