Pleasant Saturday, December 3rd at 1 p.m. Mt. Pleasant Library Large Meeting Room Join scholars Kevin Kim (American Studies), Cody Osterman (History), and Malaurie Pilatte (School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures) as they hold a discussion on the history and politics of gentrification in Mt. Pleasant. This interdisciplinary group of researchers from the University of Maryland utilized multiple sources of data, from archival resources to current day promotional materials, to think through the many changes the neighborhood has seen and continues to see to this day. Some of the questions they will address include: - How did the neighborhood get its start? - How did racial housing policy shape the neighborhood's development? - How is the neighborhood now being "sold" to the public? ------------------------------------------------------------------- La Historia y Política de Desplazamiento en la Mt.
