GLASS is excited to host Todd Larson, the Senior LGBT Coordinator at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), and Anthony Cotton, Senior Advisor in USAID’s LGBTI Office, for a brown bag lunch discussion on the international LGBT equality movement.
Todd Larson has had a long career working to advance LGBT equality internationally and domestically. He is currently charged with implementing President Obama’s memorandum on “International Initiatives to Advance the Human Rights of LGBT Persons” and continues to work to build relationships between the U.S. government and other governments, civil society, and the private sector in order to advance human rights and the development of LGBT individuals. He previously worked for twenty years at the United Nations and also served as co-chair of the Board of Directors of the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission.
As Senior Advisor in USAID’s LGBTI Office, Anthony Cotton has lead a variety of policy initiatives and programs to provide tools and resources to LGBTI civil society organizations and advocates in developing countries. Anthony’s work experience spans 25 countries and he has been a Fulbright Scholar, Presidential Management Fellow, and Obama Administration Presidential Appointee.
