There has been an elephant in the room for many years in our LGBTQ spaces, having some people asking, “Why are our spaces so segregated?” Many of these spaces are segregated by gender, race, culture, and socioeconomic status. However, we have seen successful events that shatter the norm and embrace diversity. This open discussion asks: Has this become the new normal in our lesbian and queer spaces? The panel will also explore the “secret ingredient” to creating diverse spaces.
Panelists include: Ashlee Nikole of LezLink Events, Jay Barber of Jay Walking Productions, Kate Ross of The Coven DC, Em Jay of TMS Entertainment, and Esther Hidalgo, former board member of GLBT Latino/a History Project.
