This evening, we invite you to come in either black tie (optional) or masquerade style (optional) and dance as they do on the most elegant (and eerie) of dance floors and ballrooms of throughout Mexico

DAY OF THE DEAD LIVE MARIACHI DANCING AND MUSIC:
To commerate the spirit of Dia de Muerots, you’ll experience a live costumed Mariachi troupe with music and dancing. Its members have origins from all over Mexico and other parts of Latin American. The traditional mariachi ensemble emerged in the 1800′s in several western states of Mexico, including Jalisco, Nayarit, Colima, and Michoacán Native dancers will be on hand to perform and teach traditional Mexican (and Dia De Meurtos) dancing, in addition to performing an amazing, authentic Mariachi dance performance with traditional costumes!
DIA DE MUERTOS ALTER
As you likely never have sene before, our hosts at the Embassy/Center will be displaying a Day of the Dead Alter and Ceremmony. The intent is to encourage visits by the souls, so the souls will hear the prayers and the comments of the living directed to them. Tonight, we will take part in a celebration that tries to chanenl their spirits and awaken the dead to join us in a Mexican and American Halloween Style celebration.
TOUR:
We’ll get a special first hand tour of the Center, including the a special inside look into the mansion and the fantastic murals.
DJ AND LATE NIGHT DANCING:
One of Washington, D.C.’s best D.J.s will rival the best nightclubs in Cancun with both American and Mexican pop music and dancing. Includes modern high energy, Retro, Salsa, today’s top 40 hits, and much more!

The Embassy’s Cultural Center is a unique and beautiful building, one of the best of its kind in the world. Tonight, we will pick three winners (one on Mexican themed, one on scariness, and one on originality Winner will receive prizes.
Note: This is primarily a stand up, buffet style reception with limited seating throughout the evening. We will have limited tables and chairs, but will not be able to accommodate seating for all attendees at one time. If you have any special needs, please email events@thingstodoDC.com in advance.
