On Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 8:00 pm, we will celebrate the memory of Celia Cruz. Yes, Belly of Jazz goes Latin for a special one night only event. Celia Cruz was born on October 21st in Havana, Cuba (shout out to the Libras)! She became one of the greatest Latin music icons in history. Celia Cruz asked in her autobiography " How did a little black girl from Santos Suárez [Havana] come so far?" Her legacy truly is amazing and we will Cruz through Cuba on this special night.
We will celebrate the memory of Celia Cruz through Art, Bellydance, Cuban Dance, and Live Music. Joe Falero is bringing his 12-piece band, the "DC Latin Jazz All Stars"; performing some of Celia Cruz's biggest hits. The show will be at Gala Hispanic Theatre (inside the Historic Tivoli Building) in the bustling neigborhood of Columbia Heights, Washington DC. Gala is located at 3333 14th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20010. Ticket buyers reserve seats by seat number at time of purchase. Tickets will cost more at the door.
