OPENING WEEKEND: Smithsonian Museum of African-American History and Culture

The Smithsonian Institution will open the National Museum of African-American Hisotry and Culture on September 24, 2016. President Barack Obama will lead the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony. The Museum will be OPEN for 24 Consecutive Hours during the Opening Day with a Soul Festival that will take place on the National Mall with entertainment from around the world. We will be awed by 11 exhibits that include relics from a sunken slave ship, 13th Amendment, Emancipation Proclamation and historical displas of African-American past and present. ITINERARY Depart Pittsburgh: Friday, September 23, 2016 at 12noon. Arrive Washington, DC, to the Marriott Marquis Hotel (check in time is 4:00pm) Rest of the day, your are free to dine, shop, explore. Friday, September 24, 2016 9:00am: Depart Marriott Marquis for the Smithsonia for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Opening Celebration.
