Take 5! Herman Burney Ensemble

Relax and Take 5! with free, live jazz in the Kogod Courtyard. Stop by the Courtyard Café for refreshments and borrow a board game to play during the concert. Miles Davis once said, “I have to change, it’s like a curse,” and he did just that as he transformed the direction of African American music over almost half a century. Come listen to bassist Herman Burney and his group as they celebrate Miles’s ninetieth birthday with selections from his extensive body of work. FREE admission. This program is located at the Smithsonian American Art Museum Kogod Courtyard 8th & G Streets NW, Washington, DC
