Since his early studies in Florence, Italy, artist Zachary Oxman has been perpetually drawn to creating works of art that celebrate the human figure – infused with unbridled movement and replete with a full repertoire of human emotion. The sculpture of his artistic genesis has evolved from traditional figurative bronze to a mid-career explosion of abstracted, reflective and often colorful works in steel. As a result, a fresh voice has emerged for the artist. A voice that is best actualized when one shares the physical space with the work itself.
For its very first showing to the public, Optic Symphony explores the fluidity of human perceptions through reflective forms imbued with dynamic imagery and a sense of animation. Oxman’s work beckons the viewer’s participation, relating back and revealing like a mirror onto the viewer, illuminating the complexities within all of us. Always exploring and employing new technologies to create his art, Oxman intriguingly and endlessly stretches his creative palate seducing the viewer to want more.
