FINNEBASSEN:
Dirty melancholic house music is the produce of much musical soul searching for emerging Norwegian star Finnebassen.
Although he has been producing music and playing gigs in his hometown of Oslo for a long time, 2012 has finally seen the first attacks of Finnebassen on the worldwide electronic music scene, in both performance and production. The guitar you hear in many Finnebassen tracks is Finn himself playing: a note to his true understanding of music.
Respecting the work of his peers, he lists artists such Maceo Plex, Solomun, Art Department and all of the major players in house music of today as his influences. But, it is his own version of silky smooth house by which he intends to impress. As well as regularly playing at massive Oslo night spots Jaeger and The Villa, Finnebassen also has regular gigs worldwide, with recent visits to Berlin, Greece and many appearances around the UK.
D-LUX:
Laura DeLuca "D-Lux” is one of the scene's most driven DJs and taste makers; from perfecting mixes, to smashing it at parties, this Boston based DJ has the house scene locked down! Since jumping on the decks in 2005, she's become a staple in the Boston underground, serving as a Resident DJ of RE:SET (Boston's most widely-known underground house and techno weekly). D-Lux often showcases her talents at RISE, the city's only legal after-hours nightclub and at the Red Door in Portsmouth, NH. In May 2014, D-Lux released her first track, Special Sauce on Soul Clap Records, Dancing on Charles Vol. II. D-Lux has played alongside Solomun, Guti, Jozif, Chez Damier, Tim Green, Roman Flügel, Jimpster, Phonique, Cassy, J.Phlip, Will Monotone and Louisahhh.
By far not a one-dimensional DJ, D-Lux delivers a blend of deep and melodic house, seamlessly blended with funky techno; with that distinct feminine touch that sets her apart from the crowd. Her versatility and programming is what keeps D-Lux as one of Boston's fastest risers within its electronic music scene.
D-Lux carefully orchestrates her sets to take listeners to special, unexpected places - a strategy that has resulted in a growing worldwide fan base and a reputation as a talented, versatile DJ. D-Lux is well on her way to being one of Boston's great musical exports showcasing skills and versatility which erupts dance floors everywhere.
GOLF CLAP:
The New Year has provided significant opportunities for Golf Clap’s members Hugh Cleal and Bryan Jones. They’ve recently been booked for two of the largest music festivals in the state, Movement Electronic Music Festival in Detroit and Electric Forest in Rothbury. They were recently voted “Best Electronic Artist in Detroit” by the readers of Real Detroit Weekly for their Best of 2014 issue. They had a very successful new single on Grant Nelson’s Freeze Dried label, and the club where they throw their events, The Grasshopper Underground, was just voted “Best House Music Venue” for the second year in a row.
Golf Clap is not only known for their impressive discography and crowd pleasing dj sets, but also for their unpredictable and incredibly entertaining antics. Over the past year, they have been invited to play all over the country alongside industry giants, as both headline and auxiliary entertainers. In addition, they played more than 150 shows in 2013, and are already boasting a schedule replete with coast-to-coast bookings for the 2014-year. In addition to their headline events, Hugh and Bryan have shared the stage with a veritable who’s who of veterans and rising-stars alike. Their guest mixes for Rinse FM, Ministry Of Sound, and Pulse Radio have caught the ears of discerning listeners around the world.
Their fresh approach, to what Hugh and Bryan refer to as “peak-hour deep house,” has made them a crowd favorite from city to city. They’ve been performing electrifying back to back dj sets three to seven days a week ever since their debut release, Another Way, shot straight to the number one position on Traxsource, and finished the year in the Top 10 singles of 2013. Their hard work and dedication continues to show as they prepare a very busy touring and release schedule for the year and are launching their new label, Country Club Disco. Golf Clap will continue to uphold their strong presence in the dance music community this year, forever pushing the music they love to the masses.
