About Amir Alexander:
A DJ since 93. A Producer since 98. A true student of the music/culture. Amir founded Vanguard Sound in Chicago during February 2006 to chart his own musical evolution and expression. His is a drive to raise the bar after every set, determined to fully express himself and to connect directly with the floor. In both the studio and behind the decks this cat strives to bring a raw and gritty modern spin on classic Detroit, Chicago, and New York underground sounds.

AMIR ALEXANDER - LOVE and FEAR
Chicago built, Sweden based Amir Alexander's debut album is soon to arrive on his own Anunnaki Cartel. After a string of well received EP's on labels such as London's Secretsundaze, Frankfurt's Deep Vibes, Paris's Concrete Music, and Chicago's Argot, the prolific DJ Producer will release his Long Player on the label he co-owns with friend and partner Chris Mitchell. Anunnaki Cartel is one of 3 record labels Amir owns and operates. The other 2 being his namesake label AAACID (Amir Alexander Acid), and Vanguard Sound! Anunnaki Cartel's older sister label. On this quote "fantastical Voyage" we find Amir refining and expanding his abstract minimalist "Guerrilla" soul technique to great effect.

The goal was to create a complete and cohesive body of stripped down, yet lush etudes that all interconnect and move with a sense of perpetual flow. A true album best listened to in it's entirety. This release is for all lovers of modern electronic music. A release that transcends dance music, yet is firmly rooted in DJ Dance culture. A release that transcends genre, and hopefully space and time.
It appears that Amir is busy becoming his own genre as he continues to fuse elements of Chicago House, Detroit Techno, and New York Underground sounds into something completely fresh, new, and different.
A limited vinyl run will come first for DJ's and collectors followed by a digital release 6 to 8 weeks later. Approximate expected release date is around 19 May. One day later Amir will embark on a 3 week, 3 Continent tour that will see him play 4 dates in Australia. 3 as headliner across the continent and one with Chicago legend Robert Owens at the world famous Sydney Opera House. Then straight to the airport after the last show to fly overnight to Ibiza to play at DC-10's Circo Loco. This will be followed by a quick home stop to get fresh clothes and then off to NYC and Washington DC for some loft and warehouse parties. Further supporting dates will see Amir in London on Friday 19 June before he and his Secretsundaze Comrades James Priestley and Giles Smith all take the party to Off-Sonar for their Secretsundaze 10 years in Barcelona party featuring Detroit legends Derrick May and Delano Smith, as well as Jeremy Underground Paris, Ryan Elliot, and Nick Hoppne
