“Mujeres en el Movimiento” is a place for queer Latinas to come together to build a strong and supportive community with other like-minded women. It’s a great opportunity for networking and sharing inspiring stories and achievements. Come out and enjoy drinks, great Latino music, and a historical digital photo exhibition
We are extremely excited and proud to honor two courageous Latinas in the LGBT community. These women have demonstrated their commitment through their outstanding work in the areas of women’s empowerment, racial justice, and activism at the intersections of the Latino and LGBT communities. The Emerging Leader Award will be presented to an up-and-coming Latina leader who has shown great dedication, commitment, and promise as a community leader. The Legacy Award will be presented to a Latina in Metro DC with a long history of service in these communities.
Past honorees include Laura Esquivel, Letitia Gomez, Lisbeth Melendez-Rivera, and Officer Rosa Roldan-Torres. Past honorees are women who have made significant contributions to the Latino community and the LGBT community at both the local and national level.
