HRC Foundation’s Health & Aging Program presents a screening and panel discussion of "Living in the Overlap." This award-winning documentary short film is the improbably true story of two girls growing up in Brooklyn in the 1940s, falling in love in the Midwest, and making a life together in North Carolina. For over 40 years, Lennie Gerber and Pearl Berlin have shared a passion for social justice and each other. Now, the indelible spark of their love inspires many others as they fight for their right to marry by suing the state of North Carolina.
Join co-director Mary Dalton for a panel discussion featuring Aaron Tax and Dr. Imani Woody of SAGE (Services & Advocacy for GLBT Elders). Moderated by HRC Foundation’s Tari Hanneman, the panel will address the unique challenges facing LGBT seniors and couples like Lennie and Pearl in the film.
