Ladies, this is for you. Alleycats are urban checkpoint races (similar to scavenger hunts) popular with bike messengers. They're currently male-dominated…let's change that.
The March 8 Alleycat is for the woman seeking to explore new cycling opportunities and build confidence biking around DC in a positive, inviting, fun environment. You will learn about the global women's rights movement and have a chance to win rad prizes.
The route will center around events, locations and the important ladies of women's civil rights. The checkpoints will not be known until you arrive at the event. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers and DFL (dead freakin' last), along with a raffle for sweet cycling gear. It's up to you - and you alone - to stay safe and follow the laws (http://www.waba.org/resources/bikelaws/)
Male allies are encouraged to volunteer at check-points and join us at the finish for a raffle. Contact Anastasia to volunteer.
