About Playwright Bob Bartlett:
Bob’s plays have been performed at Seven Devils Playwrights Conference, Lark New Play Development Center, Source Festival, Iron Crow Theatre Company, Active Cultures, Rorschach Theatre, and the Capital and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals. His play SWIMMING WITH WHALES was one of the recipients of the 2011 Mark Twain Prize for Comic Playwriting and David Mark Cohen National Playwriting Award. It was a semi-finalist for the 2012 and 2014 O’Neill National Playwrights Conference and a finalist for the 2011 Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Competition, and it recently received readings in Atlanta (Alliance Theater), NYC (The Lark), Washington, DC (National New Play Network/DC Area Writers Showcase at the Kennedy Center), and NYC’s Stellar Productions. His play THE ACCIDENT BEAR recently received readings by NYC’s ID Theatre and KEF Productions, and his play KANSAS was a semi-finalist for the 2013 Seven Devils Playwrights Conference. His play KUCHU UGANDA gets a reading at DC’s Queer Theatre Festival later this summer and BAREBACK INK just finished a run at Baltimore's Iron Crow. Bob is the most recent addition to the theatre faculty at Bowie State University in Maryland and holds an MFA in Playwriting from Catholic University of America. He is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America and a founding member of The Welders (thewelders.org) and lives in downtown Annapolis.
