About Alex Garner and Moisés Agosto
Alex Garner is currently the Program Coordinator in the Treatment Education Adherence Mobilization (TEAM) division at the National Minority AIDS Council. Alex was recently the founder editor at PositiveFrontiers.com. PositiveFrontiers.com is a national HIV magazine for gay men that explores issues of lifestyle culture and wellness. Prior to PositiveFrontiers.com Alex was an actor, writer, and advocate. He co-wrote and performed in 'The Infection Monologues', a funny and thought-provoking play about the modern HIV experience. Alex, who identifies as Chicano, has been living with HIV for over 17 years and got his start as a queer, HIV-positive youth organizer.
Moisés Agosto-Rosario is a longtime treatment advocate and educator for people living with HIV. Mr. Agosto-Rosario has played a crucial role in ensuring that communities of color have equal access to care, treatment, and lifesaving information and has won numerous awards for his work with the HIV community. He is currently the Director of Treatment Education, Adherence and Mobilization (TEAM) for the National Minority AIDS Council (NMAC). He is a member of the 80's generation of poets in Puerto Rico. He published Poemas De Lógica Inmune in 1991. He has published poetry and narrative in various literary journals and anthologies in Puerto Rico and oversees. In 2007 published his first book of short stories Nocturno y Otros Desamparos with Terranova Editores. He was editor with David Caleb Acevedo and Luis Negrón of the first gay, lesbian and queer anthology published in Puerto Rico, Los Otros Cuerpos.. In 2010 he published his second poetry book, Inmunología Poética (PEN Club awardee in 2010). He most recently published his second book of short stories, Plagas Del Deseo as an e-book.
