This program will help you learn more about the issues faced by asylum seekers and ways that the faith community to respond to the needs.

Michael Sisitzky, Staff Attorney, Immigration Equality – an overview of immigration issues and legal concerns faced by asylum seekers
Temi Oke, Program Intern, Center Global - A lived experience from an asylum seeker
Steven Brooks - Providing housing – a person who has provided housing to LGBT asylum seekers will speak to their experience
Eric Scharf, Program Advisor, St. Paul’s Foundation for International Reconciliation and Vice Chair, Center Global - Faith Community models for supporting LGBT asylum seekers
The program will conclude with discussion about how faith communities can provide assistance to asylum seekers. All persons of faith are invited to engage in this discussion of how you can individually and as a community respond to this growing humanitarian crisis. This session will be videotaped and made available to the wider community as we seek to engage all who share this concern. Note that ID is required for admittance to the Reeves Center.
