D. Gilson will moderate the Assaracus Poetry Brunch. He is interested in poetry, popular culture, critical theory, and their intersections. His first chapbook,Catch & Release, won the 2011 Robin Becker Prize from Seven Kitchens, and his second, Brit Lit, is now available from Sibling Rivalry. He is pursuing a PhD in American Literature & Culture at George Washington University.
Dustin Brookshire published the chapboook To the One Who Raped Me from Sibling Rivalry Press last year. He draws inspiration from the poet Anne Sexton. Phyllis Miller called Brookshire's poetry, "powerful, raw, courageous and inspirational."
Carlton Fisher is a poet whose work has been published in the Black River Review and Assaracus. He is the writer of the poem "A Poem for My Grandfather."
Will Stockton collaborated with D. Gilson on the book Crush from Punctum Books. Crush will be released next year.
Stephen Zerance has published his poetry in journals such as Prairie Schooner, Knockout, Bloom, Chelsea Station, and The Gay and Lesbian Review Worldwide. My poems have also been featured on websites such as Split This Rock and Lambda Literary.
Michael Klein's most recent book of poems, then, we were still living was a Lambda Literary Finalist and his first book, 1990, tied with James Schuyler to win the award in 1993. His new book of poems, The Talking Day was published in January, 2013. Recent work appears in Tin House, Ploughshares, Los Angeles Book Review and the Ocean State Review.
Robert Whitehead holds an MFA degree in poetry, which he earned recently. His work has been featured in Assaracus.
RJ Gibson published the chapbook Scavenge in 2010. His work has appeared in Knockout, OCHO, BLOOM, qaartsiluni, Ganymede, Six Sentences, and the anthology My Diva: 65 Gay Men on the Women Who Inspire Them.
Jeff Oaks is the author of two previous chapbooks, The Unknown Country and The Moon of Books. He's recently published poems in Ploughshares, 5 A.M., and Hanging Loose. He is the managing director of the Pittsburgh Contemporary Writers Series at the University of Pittsburgh.
