I've gone several times and the place is empty except for the employees and hideous "Drag Queens" walking around. The music sounds like they have tin cans for speakers and is so 1990's. It looks like they tried really hard in shop class and just didn't make the grade!

I have been to this club on several occassions - while it has a nice look it is way to big - feels empty most of the time. Music is always hit or miss/never consistent. Poor sounds system and light show for club this large. Very prentious crowd everytime I have been there - lots of wanna bes and posers. Also have found the area to be very unsafe - take a cab to the front door and leave your car at home. Drag show is just okay but no one seems to care about it. Have found the staff to be very arrogant and unfriendly.

Beautiful, huge space -- which is a plus since most nightclubs are dumps. The club draws the best-known DJs in the gay world, plus has an adequate house lineup. We always have fun.
Fridays are younger, more mixed crowd. Upstairs is usually more of a shirtless circuit crowd. Early-evening drag shows downstairs are hilarious!

They should give you a map when you go in! This is one case where big is not better. Most of the time the place is very empty, so you and 10 of your closet friends are just looking at each other. I’m all for a good time and I travel a lot, but the drinks are more expensive than in NYC or London! Most of the people are so high from hairspray, makeup or drugs, one should be afraid of a contact high. And the crowd is nothing to look at; they act like they are guest stars on MTV Real World or the Biggest Loser. It’s like going the most advertised movie of the summer and leaving half way, because it’s the worst movie you have ever seen!

Well, as my first gay club, I don't really have anything to compare it with. However I did find my experience VERY enjoyable. As for drink prices, 5$ red bull isn't SO bad.
I love the dance mix they had, LOVED the shirtless boys (very hot crowd), and had a good night.

being a youngin in this city, its always great to find clubs that are 18+ admittance. great music! great atmosphere. This club is all about fun.. they dont concentrate on a strict dress code and the cover charge is ratherly cheap.. guaranteed under 20 dollars for any night.

town is like an okay club and hey It is isnt in the Ghetto it is N.W. for god sake and not will rob you unless you stupid flashing you cash etc. I went to town on my b-day and i wasnt drunk at all sooo it kinda suck i not going to lie. But I mean it was new experience i never seen like go-go boys up close it was kool. The club has nice design and layout. Bad things. Music sucked unless into the pop princess/divas music constantly playing Apex wins with it mash up throught i wish they played more rap and get over beyonce. Anyways my friends and i miss the drag show but we got a show after where one of the drunk drags was like trying to touch this guy cock and he was like no and she like when off taking her wig off cursing was like ew. Okies soo overall the only postives cute go-gos and thats alll negatives Music kidna boring, Drinks are expensive, Drags queens gone crazy, if you go go Extremely high on like coke weed and drink a shit ton that way you want realize it really shitty and maybe end up hooking up with another dude who high outta his mind lmao XD

From out of town and stopped by with a couple of straight friends. Really nice bar, a great crowd, and lots of fun dancing. Also a good mix of people - straight, gay, and young to older. Didn't seem much more expensive than anyplace else in DC. Had a good time and would go back!

As many stated already - very rude staff, typical snotty gay circuit crowd, outrageously over priced and down right way too crowded. Rough area too - let's just say if your parking a few blocks away or even 50 feet away your going to be clutching your wallet and be on alert.
Only thing I actually like about the place is the bar area with the projection decor is pretty cool looking but still not worth going.

Just got back from Town- totally blew. I was hyped on the fact it as supposed to be the next Nations. Not even close- not even in the same ball park. I grew up on Playskool, Raves, hell Tracks had more punch. Secure parking was $15, cover charge was $10, and the cheapest bottle of beer was $5.50. There was half naked dudes dancing on platforms, dudes running around without shirts on and the ones who did had t!tty shirts on. Even the transsexuals were just ugly dudes in straight up drag but there were no creepy old men cruisin' the joint so that's a plus. Basic guy to girl ratio was about 20 dudes for every girl and as far as music goes, they kept playing Pink over and over which, as far as I'm concerned, possesses no real musical talent no matter how complex the mash-up. Now if you're looking for Oakenfold, Vargo, Coldcut, Govinda, Junkie XL mixes or even some old Alice Deejay, Banco de Gaia, or even some remixed old-school jungle keep looking. Friday's a big night for DJ's and there was virtually no spinning, just pop mash-up of pop radio tracks. Club 5, Rumors, Cobalt, and the Black Cat are a completely different setup and your money is better spent between those four. It'll become a staple on the gay circuit for certain otherwise don't bother. I counted five straight dudes on a Friday night and the few straight girls were in their late teens or early twenties. Oh yeah- no smoking either. Not even a patio. They had some cramped wooden outside stall and you had to hold your smoke close so you didn't burn the dude next to you. Sorry dudes- gave it whirl on an inside tip and whish I had chilled at Club 5 with some champaign instead.

I just came back from school up north to finally find a club back home that is worth comparing to clubs in New York and Boston. The place is packed with literally hundreds of guys, the club has plenty of space, the music is better than what you'd expect, and you can party til 5. Yes, drinks are expensive, and so is parking and cover, but it's DC, would you expect any less? Spend the dough, take the boys out and party at a place that seems to defy genres for gays, and for once in a long time party like you would at Nation.

Okay if you want secure parking in the ghetto it costs 10 dollars... thanks. Walking into town... I'd say that the place is really nice, large, upscale. Unless you show up before ten p.m. and sit through the dragqueenathon you have to pay 10 dollars... so is that trying to politely say something about there drag shows. Then the drinks are kind of expensive, but i don't think I really want to go there. The dancing and music is great, the light show is pretty fierce. The Go-go boys for the most point are cute and friendly. My friend dropped his christian dior sunglasses and this nice go go boy with a mic tattooed on his body picked them up and gave them to him when he dropped them.
So If it wasn't for the music, dancing and go-go boys I think town would just be a pretty club with drag queens galor and expensive drinks. WHERE ARE ALL THE DRINK SPECIALS!!! I hate the fact that if I arrive after 10 pm i pay 10 dollars for parking, 10 dollars for entrance... and by the time i go to get a few drinks ive spent over 40 dollars... now where as apex i do believe is cheaper... town is kind of expensive... i'll keep apex and others in my pocket... town... eh 3 outta 5.

This is a brand new club with a fresh fun approach to the dance scene. Two levels – each level’s walls are dressed with huge video screens playing unique videos of nature and other soothing themes – while pumping out great upbeat music. Both levels are large – but the whole place has a lounge like – upscale feeling to it. There is also u huge chill out lounge on the second level – for when you feel like getting away from the music for a few minutes. Hot boys everywhere – fast friendly staff.

If you want to spend a lame New Year's Eve in 2008, head over to Town Boutique. Here is the scoop for 2007 NY's Eve....for $20.00 - let's see - you get to sweat to death (could you maybe turn the air on when there are 1,000+ sweaty people jumping around in one building) - stand in lines 6 deep to get a watered down drink - pay $3.00 to hang up your coat sans tip - and oh yeah - entertainment - DJ's who cannot finish one song completely without interrupting it 15 times with their own personal "style". When the countdown hit t-15 - one drag queen and her entourage of 2 came out to welcome in 2008! I believe the owners of Town think that because the gay night life of SE is gone that they can charge whatever they want - provide next to nothing - and take every dime a gay man has to give and we will welcome the opportunity to have a place to "hang". Well, for the money honey - leave it at home - it's not worth the trip. I was expecting something at least on par with Zigfeld's and got something less entertaining and fulfilling than TGI Friday's.

It is great to have a new dance bar in the Washington area. But I am disappointed in 2 things. First, John should know better having been part of Tracks and Nation, that lighting is extremely important in a club. Where are the lasers and the advanced nightclub lighting?? Second, I am getting tired of these clubs using crushed ice so that they can get less liquor and mix in the drinks. When you are paying the prices that you do, you should be getting your money's worth. The drinks lately have been very weak. Hopefully these things will change.
So, what do you say?
