What we say
Strategically-located swanky lounge for hip DC professionals
Halo was one of DC's smoke-free pioneers. This modern lounge is located right in the middle of DC's newest gay neighborhood, Logan Circle, on a heavily gay and newly constructed stretch of P Street between 14 and 15th Streets. Many of the men here live in swanky lofts in the restored condo and apartment buildings that overlook the street.

this is probably the hippest gay bar in dc, located on a brand new strip of restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and clubs in logan circle, directly across from the whole foods. a natty, cute crowd of 30-somethings buying expensive drinks. but it can be a bit overdone in terms of decour and a bit unfriendly, as bars like this tend to be.

I thought I was back at XL in NYC... nice space, good lighting, HOT staff. This is a place for pretty people and their admirers... and all those in between too. Drinks are expensive, but I get that... I wish they had little hooks or something for coats in the bar area... i don't like standing and holding... standing and posing... sure.... but i want to put my coat down.

Halo is a great little lounge in the emerging Logan Circle area of DC. On a Tuesday night, the crowd was cute and chatty, but there weren't too many people to make the small place feel claustrophobic. The super hot bartenders made good drinks, although the orders weren't exactly right... but who can complain to someone that gorgeous? My only critique: it's starting to be cooler out, and there's nowhere to hang one's coat, so everyone either kept their coats on slung them over their arms... I hung mine from an easel.

This place is stylish, friendly and the drinks are the best. I think Halo has the best drink menu of all DC gay bars and clubs. They encourage the bartenders the be creative. The bartenders are super nice. My friends and I hate that Victor is no longer there, but we are still regulars. John and Carlos are our new favorite bartenders. They are good guys. Halo is a must when you visit DC.

The staff was nice and very correct, the drinks (I had dry martinis and cosmos) well prepared, generous (in size and alcohol contains) but slightly overpriced. In all a very nice place with kinna relaxed ambiance. Definitively not a cruising place, mostly couples or groups of friends. Nice music. My only regret, while there, we all learnt about the death of Jacko, and more importantly: of Farrah Fawcett.
