What we say
A home for the leather and Levi crowd
With a variety of events, the DC Eagle has a rich history in the town. Monday and Tuesdays have all-day happy hours, and a variety of pool tournaments take place here. Also home to the Mr. DC Eagle Contest. While it is outside the traditional gay hood, it's well situated on New York Avenue, a short cab or subway ride from the Dupont/Logan area.

Wow, that was unique, but fun!

Staff not friendly at all, they even refused to serve me a drink when I showed my 50 bucks bill on the excuse of not havin' any change. When I asked where could I get it changed I was simply told that was not their problem and was invited to basically bugger-off... very different from the NYC Eagle but as any other "leather" bar in the States... basically a place where you find a lot of "strouting one' stuff" but very little or none at all socializing / action. I regret the time I spent there.

very crowdy at weekends , if you are not a beefy bear or a big muscle man avoid that place, there is a bartender, generally at the bar on ground floor, who is very rude, friendly only with a few buddies he knows, usual runways of men more interested in show themselfs else than socialize!

I was there late on a Sunday evening. There was a small crowd at this two story leather bar. It was a sultry summer evening and there was a good crowd on the small patio...watching quite a show. The Eagle is very dark and has at least 3 bars all with interesting people and happenings. I'll return to the DC Eagle and think you should visit too...if you dare.

I Just returned from the infamous DC Eagle. I haven't been to the Eagle over 5 years. I was surprised, given it was a Tuesday night. The bartender, Bill, was not only friendly, provided great service to the crowd, but also brought out camaraderie amongst the group that night. Bill had us laughing, and reliving the better years. After talking with some of the local regulars, I learned that Bill, who is relatively new, has made his mark with both locals and guests from out of town, making them have a feeling of being welcome, valued, and more so appreciated. This is something that has been overlooked and is quite a change from months backs according to one regular. I am looking forward to going back when I am in town.
