APEX has been around for years under several names/iterations. Now it mostly caters to the early 20-somethings who prefer music to be loud, fast, erratic in beat and tempo. Usually guys have their shirts off bouncing to whatever beat they can find - more emphasis on being seen that dancing and quality DJing.

I always have a good time at Apex, it's so close to Dupont unlike some of the other clubs. The music is great, I hear stuff before it's on the radio. Always hot guys and a great place to meet the next Mr. Right Now!

Went out to dinner on P St last Saturday night. It was raining, so we decided to stay in the area and went to Apex. We had a great time. Caught part of the Drag show and stayed around to dance. The DJ was great and loved the light show, really made for a fun experience. Friendly staff, nice crowd, and it was really easy to get a drink. Oh and by the way there is a bar in the back that hosts a hot Latin Party.

This is a friendly laid back dance club where I have found that everyone is treated equally. Friendly and courteous staff - mixed/fun crowd where everyone seems to have a good time. Hot dance music with rotating dj's - videos and theme nites. Eleveated area on dance floor and balcony with lounge for great people watching. This is definitely a great place to meet up, dance and hang out!

I visit this place recently. I was somewhat disappointed as i usually enjoy the Apex. I found the obese guy at the door to be rude.Submitted via GayCities iPhone application

When ever I'm up for a good time, I always go to APEX! College Night on Thursdays is the best with drink specials for broke college kids and Washington’s Political Elite as well. I take my Lesbian girlfriends for the monthly GLOSS women’s party on Fridays and then they have a Latin party on the other Fridays! Saturdays really are the best because they have the coolest drag shows and the best dance music! I'm never disappointed and usually meet some really cute guys!!!!!!

I was greeted by a rude guy at the door. The layout is terrible. Very skinny twinkies and older trolls. Music was so so. Bad energy

SO i went to Apex today and i definately have to say that it was a mediocre experience. I am very accustom to taking off my shirt, and yes i know that people do tend to grope around...but this place was ridiculous. Not only this but the music was not up to par with Town's, they played the same songs for far too long and ended up just getting bored with the mix.

Great place, fabulous music and friendly staff. Reasonable prices for generous drinks. Got real flattered when asked for my ID!!! A mixed crowd: gay couples (mostly men but some women too), some groups of gay friends and the usual 2 or 3 A&F model wannabe (and used2b) and some resident queens. Oh! and a number of hetero-looking couples: girls get real! the boy's a fag. Don't get dressy, it's a very casual place, I looked alien in my normally NYC & LON unnoticed "passepartout" black apparel. Definitively not a cruising place, but a dancing one (although I got hit a number of times). Gets movin' 'round midnight.

The bald so called mgr of the place hates the ladies. He kicked us out (a group of 10) because of a self defense brawl over a year ago. But get this, he left the attacker (a male) in the club and allowed him to humiliate us as he kicked us out. Oh and he kept the cover charge money ($10 cover each)!!! Ladies, there is NO respect for us there-Truth Out!

I went with some friends last week for the first time and I wish I videotaped for youtube. It was hilarious. Very skinny young boys prancing around like they are gods gift to everyone there, while the older (usually over 50) guys chase around them buying them anything in site in hopes of being able to take them home. No joke - we were counting and laughing so hard. I think we found where NAMBLA is holding its meetings. haha
We were actually standing at the bar and this little pre-madonna literally nudge my friend out of the way and looked up at my friend and said in the most flamboyant tone - "Diva present!". We almost died in laughter after he said it and his "daddy" friend runs up to buy this under 21 year old an alcohol drink.

Title says it all, if you like your boys scrawny and young, or you like your ass grabbed by 40-50 yr olds. This is the place for you.

Dark, pulsing music. This place is the last stop of the evening. Pounding music. Shirtless guys. This dance place attracts a diverse and young audience.

The Ladies' night on Saturdays has been discontinued. Now the lads can party on both Friday AND Saturday nights. THE Dance Party in Dupont, and even the rest of DC. VERY close to Omega, a good place to go for a drink or two before coming. Scene doesn't begin at Apex until close to midnight. Very similar to dance scenes at Babylon on Queer as Folk: Lots of lights, mirrors, and MANY sweaty, shirtless men flailing themselves about in a reckless abandon. Alas, no back room like Bablyon though.

I used to go to Apex a few years back and for some reason remember it as 'okay'. Since Nation / wet / heat have now all closed, I checked out Apex last Thurs. Wow, packed rockin' dance floor full of the shirtless 18-25 crowd til 3 am! So that's where the younger set is now.
I used to go to wet Wed/Fri and miss the mixed 18+ crowd and music. I have been going to Cobalt Thurs. and while that's good with a 21-35 vibe, Apex was a great afterhours visit with the hi nrg house style reminiscent of Nation.

Apex has by far the largest and best dancefloor in Dupont, and is an immensely popular destination for late-night partiers in DC. It's also the only big 18+ club in Dupont, so the crowd tends to be on the youthful side -- especially on Thursday nights, when college students get in for free. This is the best place for guys to come after places like JR's and Cobalt close for the evening -- except on Saturday, when Apex hosts Ladies' Night and the boys are all at Nation. Above the dancefloor is a friendly, much quieter video bar; behind that is a karaoke lounge, which is usually a lot of fun (but get there early if you want to sing).
So, what do you say?
